Barrett asked the Minister for Health if it is his intention to reduce the availability of genetic counselling; if his attention has been drawn to the problems that the lack of such couselling can lead to; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the problems that the lack of such counselling can lead to. 1896 The current difficulties have arisen because of problems with the staffing of [1896] the cyto-genetic laboratory service at the Children's Hospital, Temple Street.
