Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment when a loan application for the renovation of houses at Redmond Street, Enniscorthy, County Wexford submitted by Enniscorthy Urban District Council is to be approved by his Department; and if he will expedite the matter in view of the circumstances involved as the houses are in a very dilapidated state.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): A formal application for assistance under the remedial works scheme in respect of [588] the proposed works has not yet been made by Enniscorthy Urban District Council. On receipt of full details, the proposal will be examined and a decision conveyed to the council in due course.
