[2521] 63. Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for the Marine when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be granted a licence for mussel farming.

Minister for the Marine (Mr. Daly): The application in question was received in my Department in July 1987. Some of the sites applied for conflicted with earlier applications from four other people. A revised application has been submitted and this is now being examined by my Department.

At this point I am unable to state when the applicant will receive an aquaculture licence. Every effort will be made to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible.
