Mr. Kemmy asked the Minister for Health if and when he proposes to establish a facility in County Limerick for children suffering from the Prader-Willi Syndrome. Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon) Rory O'Hanlon Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): I have received no request from the Mid-Western Health Board for the provision of a facility in County Limerick for children with Prader-Willi Syndrome. The condition is rare and, therefore, would not justify the provision of a special facility. The special needs of people with a mental handicap are currently being considered by a departmental review group on mental handicap which is drawing up guidelines on the future development of the service.
