48. Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a sheep subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): Payment issued to the person named on 20 November 1987.

49. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a farm improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): The grant will be paid as soon as practicable along with other grants certified about the same time. Due to budgetary constraints there are delays in making grant payments.

50. Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not yet received a farm improvement grant which was passed for payment on 14 September 1987; and when this grant will be paid.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): A claim under the Farm Improvement Programme for payment of a grant of £1,135 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to [1495] existing budgetary constraints there is some delay in making grant payments.

51. Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange for immediate payment of headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): The husband of the person named is the registered herdowner and he will be paid his 1987 cattle headage and suckler cow schemes grants when the batch which includes his payments is processed.
