Dáil Éireann - Volume 373 - 24 June, 1987

Written Answers. - Maynooth Road Realignment.

153. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Environment the reason for the delay in the completion of road realignments on the N4 at Laraghbryan, Maynooth, County Kildare; the cost of the works carried out to date; the total projected cost of these works; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): Improvments at this location are being carried out in two phases. Phase I has been completed at an estimated cost of £810,000. A revised design for the second phase of the scheme was approved by the Department on 10 December 1986. The estimated cost of phase II is £500,000. The question of allocating a grant for this work will be considered, in due course, in the context of the determination of road grants for 1988.
