Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowances Certificate.
Mr. S. Walsh Mr. S. Walsh
154. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Finance the reasons an incorrect certificate of tax free allowances has been issued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24.
Minister for Finance (Mr. J. Bruton) John Bruton
Minister for Finance (Mr. J. Bruton): I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has not completed a return of income since 1983-84. The inspector of taxes issued return of income forms to the taxpayer for completion on 4 June 1986 when he called to the tax office, but these have not been returned to date. An amended certificate of tax free allowances for 1986-87, incorporating the correct amount of life assurance relief due as disclosed by the taxpayer during his call to the tax office, was issued to the taxpayer on 16 June 1986.
