112. Mr. Browne asked the Minister for Labour if he is prepared to sanction an application for a Teamwork scheme for Enniscorthy Youth Employment Committee on the basis that Enniscorthy town has a higher youth unemployment problem than usual.

Minister for Labour (Mr. Quinn): Arising from the additional funds made available for Teamwork the application for assistance from the Enniscorthy Youth Employment Committee was recently reconsidered by my Department. However, much of the proposed work for this project (i.e. landscaping, renovating and decorating) is outside the scope of the scheme and, accordingly, this application would not qualify for grant aid in its present form. The sponsors are being given the opportunity of amending their proposals to bring them into line with the conditions of the scheme.
