Written Answers. - Housing Aid for Elderly.

62. Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make additional funds available to the north Cork Community area under the scheme for the elderly to have piped water installed to people living in isolated areas in local authority houses.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. O'Sullivan): The funds for the operation of the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly are allocated to the health boards on a regional basis. The Southern Health Board has been notified of its allocation for 1986 and it is a matter for the board to determine how the allocation is spent.
