Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher Post.
Mr. Conaghan Mr. Conaghan
59. Mr. Conaghan asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to appoint a remedial teacher in the Clonmany area, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Minister for Education (Mr. Cooney) Minister for Education (Mr. Cooney)
Minister for Education (Mr. Cooney): Applications of schools for remedial teaching posts are processed by my Department's Inspectorate and available posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of need. The application of the schools referred to by the Deputy has not, to date, been placed sufficiently high in order of priority of educational need to warrant the allocation of a post. It will, however, be further considered in the light of the availability of such posts in the future.
