Dáil Éireann - Volume 363 - 12 February, 1986 Written Answers. - Dunleer (Louth) By-pass Mr. Bell Mr. Bell 20. Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment the level of financial support from his Department and the EC for the Dunleer by-pass, County Louth; if he is aware of the very bad state of the existing road, when he expects work to commence and conclude; if way-leave has been completed with land and property owners; if so, the cost involved; the projected employment involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh) Liam Kavanagh 2386 [2386] Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): I expect to be in a position shortly to reach a decision on Louth County Council's motorway scheme in respect of the proposed Dunleer by-pass which has been estimated to cost £15 million at 1984 prices. I am sure the Deputy will appreciate that in view of my quasi-judicial functions in the matter it would not be appropriate for me to make any comments on the details of the scheme in advance of any decision.
