Mr. Enright Mr. Enright
425. Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Labour the present position of the application under the teamwork scheme for Durrow Community Council, Durrow, Portlaoise, County Laois.
Minister for Labour (Mr. Quinn) Ruairí Quinn
Minister for Labour (Mr. Quinn): An application for assistance under the teamwork scheme was received from this group last year. However, due to the exceptional demand for teamwork it was not possible to consider a number of applications, including the one from Durrow Community Council, for assistance in 1985.
The work proposed by the council, which involves landscaping and restoration work is regarded as being more suitable for assistance under my Department's social employment scheme and I would suggest that Durrow Community Council contact the National Manpower Service in Portlaoise if they are interested in applying for assistance under that scheme. Details of the social employment scheme were, in fact, forwarded to Durrow Community Council by my Department in August 1985.
