Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in County Roscommon in receipt of (a) a contributory old age pension and (b) a non-contributory old age pension in each of the years 1981 to 1985, inclusive; and the total cost in each year. The information sought by the Deputy for the years 1981 to 1984 is not available. Statistics of the recipients on a county basis were not maintained during that time. However, a breakdown of the number of recipients is available for 1985. Details are as follows: Old age non-contributory and blind persons pensions, 4,292; Old age contributory pensions, 718. Separate details of blind persons pensions are not available. Details of costs are not available as these are not maintained on a county basis. Mr. Doherty Mr. Doherty 297.
