77. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for the Environment if he will amend the regulations governing housing authorities for the housing of immigrants by local authorities.

[79] Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): Subject to the relevant statutory provisions, the allocation of tenancies in local authority dwellings is a matter for each local authority and is not one in which I have a direct function.
