100. Mr. Noonan (Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has received an application from a co-operative society (details supplied) in County Limerick for grant aid under regulation 355/77 from the FEOGA grant aid for livestock fund marts; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy): An application for grant aid towards the development cost of two livestock marts was received from the co-operative society mentioned on 25 October. The application is currently being considered in the context of an examination of a recent submission by the co-ordinating bodies for livestock marts urging grant aid for mart development generally, which would be a prerequisite for obtaining FEOGA grants under Regulation EEC 355/77.
