Minister for Justice (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East) Michael Noonan Minister for Justice (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): As indicated in the national plan, recruitment to the Garda Síochána is to continue during the period 1985-87 with a view to maintaining the strength of the force at 11,400. To achieve that and taking account of anticipated wastage, 60 recruits are due to be appointed on 6 November and present plans are to appoint a further 25 before the end of the year.
