O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in [1691] granting a disabled person's maintenance allowance to a person (details supplied) in County Cork as the application was lodged four months ago; and if he is aware of the hardship she is undergoing due to the delay in payment. Minister for Health (Mr. B. Desmond) Barry Desmond Minister for Health (Mr. B. Desmond): The delay was due to the shortage of medical personnel in the area. A medical examination of the applicant has now been carried out and a decision on the application will be made very shortly.
