47. Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister [1657] for the Environment when he will sanction a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

48. Mr. Dowling asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

As the final instalment of the applicant's loan was paid by the local authority on 30 November 1984 when the house was completed, a £1,000 new house grant only will be paid in this case, if in order. Certain minor matters that had to be attended to in this case arising from a request by the Department's inspector in February last do not affect the position in relation to the amount of the grant.
