Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

38. Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): Arising from a recent inspection it was established that the house was not complete. A grant will be paid in the case when a further inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily [1655] completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions of the scheme.

39. Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan has not received a home improvement grant.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): This application was rejected because the works proposed did not come within the scope of the house improvement grants scheme. The applicant was so informed on 26 July 1984.

40. Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will receive a mortgage subsidy payment.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): The third instalment of the subsidy was paid to the applicant on 12 February 1985. The fourth instalment which relates to the six months ended June 1985 will be paid when he submits a completed claim form, duly certified by the appropriate lending agency.

41. Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and complies with all other conditions of the grant scheme. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

42. Dr. Ormonde asked the Minister for the Environment when the final inspection will be made in the application for a new house grant by a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): My Department's inspector [1656] has been asked to carry out an inspection in this case as soon as possible.
