710. Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture when a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who purchased a bulk milk tank in May 1984 will be paid a grant of £500.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy): The grant to which the Deputy refers is payable by my Department to the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society Ltd. Payment is made by instalments, and funding is from the proceeds of the EC coresponsibility levy. Before my Department can pay the final instalment they are obliged by Community law to carry out a detailed examination of the specific project concerned. In the present case this examination is now under way and it may be expected that if the results are satisfactory the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society will receive the moneys necessary to pay the applicant in question.
