Written Answers. - Iranian Embassy.

[1493] 555. Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will intervene with the Iranian Embassy to ensure that they observe planning regulations at their embassy and in particular that they do not infringe the rights or needs of local residents.

Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. P. Barry): The Deputy will be aware that the embassy have applied to the relevant planning authority for the building work proposed. The embassy have undertaken not to proceed further with the work already in hand. From discussions my Department have had with the embassy there is no reason to assume that the embassy will not comply with planning regulations.
