Written Answers. - Pulpwood Purchases.

339. Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the amount of timber being purchased from the Forestry Department by a firm (details supplied) in County Tipperary; the forests from which the timber is supplied; and the price paid per tonne.

Minister for Fisheries and Forestry (Mr. O'Toole): On the basis of present projections it is anticipated that the level of pulpwood purchased by the firm in question from my Department during the current year should be of the order of 200,000m³, involving a wide range of State forests in several counties. The [88] Deputy will appreciate that matters such as price are confidential as between the Department and the firm concerned.
