Mr. Molony asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money known to have been lost to his Department through acts of fraud emanating from (a) within and (b) outside his Department in the years 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983; and the general areas in his Department in which such acts of fraud occurred.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Dukes): No money is known to have been lost through acts of fraud emanating either from within or outside my Department or the offices under my aegis in the years 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983. Two cases of suspected fraudulent activity in 1982 in  the Office of the Revenue Commissioners are at present effectively sub judice.
