Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Finance when a new sub-contractor's tax number will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if it will be expedited to enable him to carry on a [1044] business on his own account, the person having been made redundant some time ago from his former employment.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Dukes): I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer called to the tax office on 14 June 1984 and he was requested to supply certain additional information required to enable his application for a sub-contractor's certificate to be considered. On the following day he supplied the additional information required and a sub-contractor's certificate of authorisation will shortly be issued to him.
