468. Mr. O.J. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment the cost of the erection of four itinerant houses at Denycloney, Mountmellick, County Laois; the amount and estimated cost of damage caused by the tenants; the cost of demolition of two of the houses by Laois County Council because of the tenants neglect; and the total amount of public money involved in this project.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): The information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. The responsibility for the construction, maintenance and management of their rented housing stock rests with the local authority concerned, i.e. in this case Laois County Council.
