522. Mr. Browne asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid [2253] to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Dukes): The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the taxpayer ceased employment of 9 February 1984 and submitted a claim to repayment on the grounds of unemployment to the inspector of taxes on 28 March 1984. A review of the taxpayer's liability for the year 1983-84, details of which were issued to him on 25 May 1984, revealed an overpayment of tax. A cheque in settlement will be issued to the taxpayer shortly.
