Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a £1,000 new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been completed and an application has been made for some time. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh) Liam Kavanagh Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and, if not, the reason. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh) Liam Kavanagh Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): A grant cannot be paid in this case because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the applicant was not in occupation of the particular house at final inspection stage.
