399. Dr. Woods asked the Minister for Justice the reason the special task force was withdrawn from Border duties in 1983.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): The Garda Special Task Force was not withdrawn from Border duties in 1983. Certain administrative changes were made relating to the operation of the special task force in Border divisions but it would not be in the public interest for me to disclose details of the new arrangements that have been made.
