Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Social Welfare: (a) the number of persons being subsidised from his Department under the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Act, 1982; (b) the maximum and minimum subsidies; (c) the cost in 1983; and (d) the cost in a full year. Desmond): The following is the information required: (a) the number of persons in receipt of rent allowances under the powers given in the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Act 1982 to date is 468; (b) the highest weekly rent allowance in payment so far is £57, the lowest is £1.30; (c) the estimated cost of the scheme in 1983 is £350,000; (d) the estimated cost of the scheme for the full year is £2 million.
