403. Mr. Prendergast asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will agree to increase the staffing of tax offices throughout the country, in view of the [2292] very heavy burden of work being undertaken by them.

Minister for the Public Service (Mr. Boland): Following my press statement of 27 April 1983, 104 staff have been temporarily re-assigned from other Departments to the Office of the Revenue Commissioners to deal with the additional work arising there.
