Mr. Dowling Mr. Dowling
399. Mr. Dowling asked the Minister for the Public Service if it is proposed to reopen options in respect of the Garda Síochána widows' and children's pension scheme; and, if so, when this will take place.
Minister for the Public Service (Mr. Boland) John Boland
Minister for the Public Service (Mr. Boland): I have notified the Minister for Justice that I would not object to the granting of a further option into the Garda Síochána widows' and children's contributory pension scheme for those who had earlier opted out of the scheme.
The preparation of the requisite Garda Síochána (Pensions) Amendment Order, and its implementation, are matters for that Minister.
