625. Mr. Wyse asked the Minister for the Environment if it is his intention to allocate £300,000 to the Blackrock harbour/Passage [2254] railway line amenity scheme, County Cork.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Spring): Cork Corporation have submitted a proposal to my Department for the development of an amenity scheme along the Blackrock-Passage railway line for funding from a sum of £2 million which the Youth Employment Agency propose to make available this year for the Environment Works (Special Project) Scheme. This proposal along with other proposals received from local authorities is currently being examined by my Department in consultation with the Youth Employment Agency. I hope to inform the corporation of the outcome of this examination shortly.
