596. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider increasing the house improvement grant payments to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Spring): A maximum house improvement grant under the old scheme was paid to the person named in October 1981. Under the current scheme a grant for carrying out necessary works to the fabric of a house cannot be paid within ten years from the payment of a previous grant.

597. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

[2358] Minister for the Environment (Mr. Spring): The Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, prohibits the payment of the balance of a new house grant, under the old scheme of new house grants, in this case, as the house was not completed before 31 December 1978. The applicant has been so informed.

598. Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Spring): This grant has been approved. On receipt of notification of completion of works, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant in this case.
