698. Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education whether fare paying tickets for school transport will be issued to a family (details supplied) in County Galway.

Minister for Education (Mrs. Hussey): The pupils referred to by the Deputy do not attend their nearest suitable school and, therefore, are not eligible for free transport to that school. They may be afforded concessionary fare-paying facilities to the school only if spare accommodation is available on the relevant vehicle. Spare accommodation is not available at present.
