O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the three year delay in dealing with the application of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for a grant under the western drainage scheme; and when his application will be considered. Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy) Austin Deasy 130 Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy): This application under the western drainage [130] scheme was received on 7 October 1981. Applications under this scheme are being processed strictly in order of receipt. Present indications are that sufficient applications have been received up to 30 September 1981 to absorb the 150,000 hectares approved by the EEC which meets 50 per cent of the cost of the scheme. It was decided early last year to defer processing of applications received after that date to enable the situation to be reviewed. Mr. Begley Mr. Begley 427.
