443. Mr. Gregory-Independent asked the Minister for Justice if it is his intention to extend the hours of association of prisoners in Limerick Prison as in Portlaoise Prison.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): I consider myself bound to honour the undertaking given by my predecessor that the prisoners in Limerick Prison should have the same hours of association as prisoners in Portlaoise Prison. Practical difficulties continue to prevent the implementation of that undertaking. I am endeavouring to overcome those difficulties.
