O'Leary asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the present position regarding the application of smallholders in the Shanara and Glencuttane areas near Beaufort, County Kerry for an EEC subsidised supply of electricity; and when this application will be granted. Bruton): I understand from the ESB that they have received applications from two of the individuals concerned. The board have no record of an application from the third individual. The two applications which were received by the board are being costed and processed at present. When this is completed, they will be submitted to my Department for approval. The Deputy will appreciate that until the applications have been received in my Department I will not be in a position to say what the outcome will be. 775 All applications are processed as quickly as possible and all applicants are [775] informed of the outcome by the ESB without undue delay. Bruton): I have been informed by the ESB that there is no record of an application for aid under the western package electrification scheme from the individual referred to by the Deputy.
