266. Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance when arterial drainage will be carried out on the River Suir; and the progress made to date in the preparation of a design for its drainage.

Minister for Finance (Mr. MacSharry): The design of a scheme for the Suir catchment under the Arterial Drainage Act, [50] 1945, is continuing but I am not in a position to say when the design will be completed or when a scheme might commence.
