Dáil Éireann - Volume 336 - 23 June, 1982 Order of Business. The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: It is proposed to take the business in the following order: Nos. 3, 10 (resumed), 11 to 14, inclusive. Private Members' Business will be taken between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m., item No. 25 (resumed). Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: Could the Taoiseach give the House any indication when he intends to set up the Committee on Procedure and Privileges? The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: Immediately. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: I view of the fact that the nominations for membership of that committee have been submitted by our party for some days now, and I understand that the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs sought yesterday to refer a particular matter to that committee, it would be helpful if the Taoiseach would clarify what day he means by “immediately.” The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: I can do it today. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: It is not on the Order of Business. The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: We will nominate our representatives today. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland 1226 Mr. Boland: I understood it would [1226] have to be included in the Order of Business, a Cheann Comhairle. Is that correct? Dr. FitzGerald Dr. FitzGerald Dr. FitzGerald: We would be happy to waive that. The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: I will discuss it with the Ceann Comhairle to see if it can be brought into being today. If not, we can do it tomorrow. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: If it is brought in today, would it not be necessary to vary the orders for today? The Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey The Taoiseach: We can always do that later. Mr. Kenny Mr. Kenny Mr. Kenny: With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I wish to raise on the Adjournment the impending closure of the Dubarry shoe factory in Westport, County Mayo, with serious job losses for that town. An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: I will communicate with the Deputy. Mr. B. Allen Mr. B. Allen Mr. B. Allen: I wish to raise on the Adjournment the huge number of pollution incidents in the Munster area over the last number of weeks involving fish stocks and contamination of water supplies. I want to find out what the Minister for the Environment intends to do about this problem. An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: I will communicate with the Deputy. Mr. O'Sullivan Mr. O'Sullivan Mr. O'Sullivan: I wish to raise on the Adjournment the question of the closure of the Eagle Printing Company in Cork with the loss of 106 jobs. An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: I will communicate with the Deputy. Mrs. Fennell Mrs. Fennell 1227 Mrs. Fennell: I seek clarification from the Chair with regard to his refusal to allow me to raise the issue I brought up yesterday with regard to the District Court clerks dispute. The Chair said that could not be raised because it is sub judice. [1227] I want to know if it is the specific case that is sub judice or the case in general, because it is a very critical issue and it should be raised on the floor of this House. An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: I will have the matter looked into. Mrs. Fennell Mrs. Fennell Mrs. Fennell: May I come and speak to you about it? An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: I will communicate with the Deputy. Mr. McMahon Mr. McMahon Mr. McMahon: I wish to raise the matter which I sought to raise on the Adjournment last week but you refused permission because we were having the Estimate for that Department on Friday last. We did not have the Estimate on Friday and it appears we may not have the Estimate this Friday. I refer to the position regarding Clondalkin Paper Mills and I again ask permission to raise that matter on the Adjournment. An Ceann Comhairle John F. O'Connell An Ceann Comhairle: The Chair will communicate with the Deputy. Dáil Éireann 336 Order of Business. General Debate 19820623
