708. Mr. G. Birmingham asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the telephone of a person (details supplied) in Dublin to be repaired immediately; and when repairs will be carried out.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): Service has been restored.

709. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a filling station (details supplied) in Dublin 6.

710. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

712. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if the mobile exchange at Sommerville Avenue will cater for the applicants for telephone service from St. Columba's Road, Greenhills Estate, Dublin 12 when it comes into operation.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): Yes, subject to cable availability.

713. Mr. F. Fahey asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if there are any plans to improve the telephone service in the Clarenbridge area of County Galway.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): Yes, New exchanges at Kilcolgan and Oranmore which will service Clarenbridge subscribers, will be brought into service early next year.

714. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

715. Mr. S. Walsh asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin.

716. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): A survey is being undertaken to establish when telephone service can be provided for the person named who made [1668] application in May 1982. The applicant will be contacted as soon as possible after the result of the survey is known.

717. Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will expedite the provision of a telephone service for a person in County Dublin (details supplied) who applied in 1980 and who needs the service urgently because of his special family circumstances.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that necessary cabling can be completed for about a year.

718. Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored to a business premises (details supplied) in County Meath.

719. Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Killester, Dublin 5.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that necessary cabling can be completed for about a year.

720. Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in providing a telephone for a person (details supplied) in Ballyfermot, Dublin; when service will be provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): It has not been possible to meet this application so far because of a shortage of cabling to serve the area and the volume of applications on hands and requiring attention in the Dublin area. It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

[1669] 721. Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in providing a telephone for a person (details supplied) in Ballyfermot, Dublin; if he will now give this application priority; and when the telephone will be supplied.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): It has not been possible to meet this application so far because of a shortage of cabling to serve the area and the volume of application on hands and awaiting attention in the Dublin area. It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

It has not been possible in the time available to research the priority aspect. If the Deputy can furnish details of the circumstances the question of according priority when the necessary cabling has been completed will be examined.

722. Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in supplying a telephone to a person (details supplied) in Ballyfermot, Dublin; and when a telephone will be supplied.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): It has not been possible to provide service for this applicant because of a shortage of cabling to serve the area and the large volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the Dublin area. It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.
