915. Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Raphael Burke): A grant cannot be paid in this case because the house, as built, was in excess of the floor area allowable for grant purposes. The applicant was notified to this effect on 10 June, 1980. The house was remeasured on the ground in April 1981, but the position was unchanged.
