Mr. Conaghan asked the Minister for Education the current position in relation to progress at Cockhill national school, County Donegal. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland 670 [670] Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): It is understood from the Commissioners of Public Works that a bill of quantities has been submitted for the proposed new national school at Cockhill, County Donegal. This bill is under examination and it is expected that tenders may be invited at an early date. Mr. Conaghan Mr. Conaghan 491. Mr. Conaghan asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the new national school at Tooban, Burnfoot, County Donegal. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): Sketch-plans which the Commissioners of Public Works have prepared for the new national school at Tooban are being examined at present. A grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the project when the plans are approved and when agreement is reached with the school authorities regarding the amount of local contribution to be provided. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): It is understood from the Commissioners of Public Works that working drawings are completed and that they have made arrangements for the preparation of a bill of quantities for the proposed new national school at Drung, County Donegal. When the bill of quantities has been prepared and examined the commissioners will be in a position to invite tenders for the project. No avoidable delay will occur in making progress on this proposal. Mr. Conaghan Mr. Conaghan 493. Mr. Conaghan asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the new national school at Newtowncunningham, County Donegal. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland 671 Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): A grant has been sanctioned by my Department and the Commissioners of Public Works expect to be in a position to invite tenders for the proposed new [671] national school at Newtowncunningham, at an early date. Gallagher asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the provision of a new national school in the Neale, Claremorris, County Mayo. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): Revised sketch-plans for the proposed new national school in the Neale, County Mayo, have been prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works and approved by my Department. The Commissioners have recently advised the Reverend chairman of the board of management to seek full planning permission in respect of the revised plans so that work on the preparation of working drawings may proceed as urgently as possible. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 495. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to commence work on the new Protestant school at Killaghtee, Dunkineely, County Donegal. Minister for Education (Mr. Boland) John Boland Minister for Education (Mr. Boland): Sketch-plans have been prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works for the proposed new school at Killaghtee. A grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the new school when satisfactory title to the site extension has been established.
