391. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in the payment of a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. MacSharry): The applicant is classified as a development farmer and is therefore required to keep farm accounts for each year of his plan. Payment of the grant cannot be made until the applicant furnishes evidence that he is complying with this requirement.
