Written Answers. - Oireachtas Clocks.

166. Mr. B. Desmond asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the several dozen electric clocks in the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas have not worked for over one month; if he is aware that the absence of such a basic facility is entirely unacceptable; and if he will arrange to have repairs completed forthwith.

Minister for Finance (Mr. G. Fitzgerald): I am aware that faults have occurred in the clock wiring system. The faults are being traced and as a result of repairs [345] already carried out most clocks are now working. I expect the remainder to be working properly in the next day or so.
