Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Education the current state of planning for Tralee regional technical college with regard to the purchase of land necessary for the erection of buildings; if the drawings for the new college building are available; and the target date for the completion [1217] and opening of the new buildings. Minister for Education (Mr. Wilson) John P. Wilson Minister for Education (Mr. Wilson): The Town of Tralee Vocational Education Committee have been authorised to purchase additional land necessary for the Tralee Regional Technical College. I understand that negotiations for the acquisition of the additional land are still proceeding. Discussions are proceeding between the vocational education committee and my Department on an educational brief for the college. As soon as the brief has been agreed, architectural planning of the new buildings for the college will be commenced. Pending the completion of these preliminaries, it would not be possible to set a precise target date for the completion of the building project. Dáil Éireann 325 Written Answers.
