Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

254. Mr. Keating asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay to date in dealing with the claim of a person (details supplied) in Dublin for unemployment assistance; and when a means test will be carried out in this case.

Minister for Social Welfare (Dr. Woods): The reason for the delay in this case is that the means of the person concerned had to be investigated.

An officer called on the person concerned at her home address but found that she was not available. She has been asked to contact the officer with a view to making an appointment. When this is done, the case will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
