Dr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will list the number of advisory bodies set up by his Department and give details of the activities of these bodies and the budgetary provisions for each of them. Mr. Lenihan Mr. Lenihan Mr. Lenihan: My Department has set up only one advisory body, the Wildlife Advisory Council. This advisory council was established on 13 March 1978 by order made under section 13 of the Wildlife Act, 1976. Under the provisions of that Act the Council may, either of its own volition or at my request, make recommendations as to general policy in relation to the conservation of wildlife or as to objectives to be fixed or programmes to be implemented in relation to such conservation. 952 £10,000 was provided in respect of the [952] council's expenses in the Forestry Vote for 1980.
