181. Mr. E. Collins asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons for the nonpayment of the mountain lamb/hogget subsidy for 1979, to farmers in County Waterford and if he will expedite the payment of these moneys.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. MacSharry): Out of 228 applications in 1979 for sheep headage payments in County Waterford 17 remain to be cleared. These cases require further investigation or additional documentation in relation to such matters as off-farm income, ownership, herd registration and so on.
