376. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in granting a non-contributory old age pension to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Minister for Social Welfare (Dr. Woods): A non-contributory old age pension at the maximum rate, including an allowance for his wife and three children, has been granted to the person concerned with effect from 6 January 1980, the date on which he reached pension age.

The pension order books and arrears due have been issued.
