Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding the conversion of the De La Salle school premises at Navan, County Meath into a Garda station and when the new station will be fully operational. It is not possible to say when a contract will be placed but there will be no avoidable delay. The works will take about nine months to complete. I understand that the station is fully operational. Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance when the site was acquired for [1214] the erection of a new Garda station at Laytown, County Meath, and when building work will commence. Sketch plans of the new station are being prepared but it is not possible at this stage to say when planning will be complete and building will commence.
